10 000 NorthPop participants!

This week the NorthPop study reached its goal of included participants and now has 10,000 families enrolled! This is a major milestone.
The achievement has not gone unnoticed, and has so far been highlighted by, among others, Umeå University and Region Västerbotten.

But the work does not end here!
The last NorthPop children are expected to be born around February 2026, and the follow-up until the age of 7 will continue as planned until 2033.

“The large database and biobank will be invaluable for future generations of researchers,” says Christina West, Professor of Pediatrics and NorthPop research leader.

“I want to thank all colleagues whose fantastic work has made this possible, and of course all participating families,” adds Magnus Domellöf, Professor of Pediatrics and principal investigator of NorthPop.
