NorthPop Family Day at Curiosum

As part of celebrating that the NorthPop study has reached its goal of including 10,000 participants, the study was delighted to be able to invite participating families to a fun-filled day at Curiosum.

NorthPop was able to welcome 700 participants on Sunday 9 November, who had the opportunity to try all of Curiosum’s exciting activities – conducting experiments, trying out programming, building and creating in the Makerspace, and enjoying a film in the Wisdome dome theater.

NorthPop provided refreshments, and the research leads, Magnus and Christina, gave a short presentation about the NorthPop study in connection with the film screening every hour throughout the day. You can see their presentation here.

NorthPop was also able to offer making of balloon animals together with Linda and Emma – thank you for taking part!

The event has been covered by both SVT Västerbotten and Västerbottens-Kuriren (in Swedish):

“It was so valuable to meet all the curious children and their parents at Curiosum – in the true spirit of science!” said Christina West, Professor of Pediatrics and NorthPop research lead.

“It was absolutely fantastic to be able to organize this for the families who have contributed to NorthPop – so much joy and creativity!” added Magnus Domellöf, Professor of Pediatrics and Principal Investigator of NorthPop.
