NorthPop AI methods/big data workshop 28 March 2023
A follow-up NorthPop workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) methods and big data was held on Umeå University campus on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
Researchers linked to the NorthPop study and invited participants from other institutions as well as the School of Business at Umeå University participated to continue the work to discuss which data driven methods are best suited for analysing the NorthPop study data.
Presentations were given on Functional data analysis, Data‐Driven Life Science (DDLS) nodes, National Bioinformatics Infrastructure (NBIS) and analysis of GWAS data, as well as the latest results from an ongoing epigenetics study within NorthPop.
”We brought together researchers with skills and competence in the field of AI and machine learning, and researchers with extensive experience in clinical research studies. Our discussions about applications and the interaction between medicine and data driven methods were hugely exciting!” said Professor Christina West, who organised the workshop together with Professor Magnus Domellöf.
The plan is now to make this workshop a recurring event.
