ESPGHAN conference 2024

The N4 research group was well represented at the 56th European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) Annual Meeting in Milan, Italy, 15-18 May 2024.

On the first day of the conference, PhD student Pontus Challis presented an abstract titled ‘Advancement of Enteral Feeds and Human Milk Fortifier Are Not Risk Factors for Late Necrotising Enterocolitis: A Dual National Cohort Study’ in the Best Abstracts session.

The following day docent Anna Chmielewska held an oral abstract presentation titled ‘Effect of Low-Dose Iron Supplementation in Breastfed Infants on Development During Early Childhood: Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trial’ from the SIDBI study in the Parallel Nutrition Abstract Session.

Prof Magnus Domellöf held two presentations on the Friday; one for a lunch symposium (“Growing and thriving with Medical Nutrition Therapy: From evidence to clinical experience”) arranged by Fresenius Kabi called ‘Intravenous lipids in the NICU’ and another at the Neonatology SIG/ESPR symposium entitled ’Human-milk fortifiers’.

PhD student Daniel Jansson was also at the conference and had his abstract ‘Behaviour-based movement cut-off points in 3-year-old children. Comparing wrist with hip-worn actigraphs MW8 and GT3X’ accepted for Paper Poster Viewing.

“It was great that we had such strong representation from our research group at this important conference” said Prof Magnus Domellöf after the conference concluded.
